There are in total nine battalions of PARA Commandos in India and all have raised differently in a different period of time. The very first commando rank had been conferred in 1978 to those who were a part of PARA regiment since 1952.

9 MARCOS (Marine Commandos):-
The unit of Marine commandos was created by the Indian Navy in 1987. They got much of their recognition in the national level after Mumbai attack and their successful involvement and intervention in it.
MARCOS have some exceptional responsibilities other than just safety at the borders like they have to look over any amphibious activity that is subject to national security. Counter terrorism activities are also a part of their additional responsibilities. Mumbai attack response to the terrorists was the best example to understand and look after their contribution to the country.
8 GARUDA COMMANDO FORCES:-
The special AIR FORCE wing named GARUDA has the pride to serve their country from the aerial end. The force has to go through a 72 week toughest program like no other as a training and are known for having much more responsibilities than just an armed personnel has.
They are considered equivalent to the MARCOS and PARA Commandos. Also the exercise ‘Vayu Shakti’ is famous for their practice especially.
7 SPECIAL GROUP (R&AW):-
This force or we can say a group of Research & Analysis Wing of Indian government is recognized for its covert operations. However, R&AW’s each and every operation is expected to be covertly done but especially those tasks in which the Indian government could not intervene legally, the Special Forces from R&AW comes into action and get the task done for the Indian government.
6 SPECIAL FRONTIER FORCES (R&AW):-
The Special Frontier Force is a sort of hidden unit of R&AW. As it was originally given birth to take charge meanwhile the Chinese war against the Chinese army. It dominantly consists of Tibetan people who are more familiar with the hilly terrains and areas that belong to north India or at the Indo-Tibetan border.
5 NSG (NATIONAL SECURITY GUARDS):-
National Security Guards are specialized force to tackle against the terrorism activities within or outside the country. Having shaped in 1986, this force is designed on the basis of German and British forces. Their uniform is the symbol of their recognition as they are also known as ‘Black Cats’ due to specially colored dresses in Black.
4 SPECIAL PROTECTION GROUP:-
A specialized unit of Indian armed forces that is especially formed and given birth to protect former and incumbent Prime Ministers of India. That includes the family of Prime Ministers as well for the period they serve to the nation.This force is especially formed after the Indian former Prime minister Indira Gandhi’s assassination in 1985.
COBRA is a specialized jungle warfare unit of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to counter the internal insurgency in India. It is considered the best paramilitary law enforcement unit in India stands for Commando Battalion for Resolute Action.
It has been actively deployed to counter the Naxalite–Maoist insurgency in India across various states since its inception in 2008.
2 FORCE ONE:-
